Well, I don't know about everyone else but the minute I joined this group, all the wildlife seemed to disappear. I've seen several Meadow Brown butterflies on the downs, together with a few bumblebees, but not much else.
However, I at last managed to get a shot of a beautiful blue butterfly, which I think is called a Chalkhill Blue. According to my butterfly book, the latter is to be found on flowery chalk downs in August.
Ooh, it was pretty. Other than that, only a plague of flying ants to report.
Now what possesses them to take off en masse?
